Iomic golf grips are known for their reduced torque - and their slogan doesn’t come without proof. Independently tested by Kasco Japan using Iron Byron and Trackman technology, Iomic grips really are the straightest grips in golf.
This low torque can reduce your shot dispersion on off-centre hits by up to 30%, backing you up when you’re not playing your best. Usually, soft grips have large amounts of torque: Iomic have managed to create a low-torque grip without sacrificing softness by using a material called ‘Elastomer’.
Elastomer: The Key To Iomic Golf Grips
Traditionally, golf grips are made using rubber, which isn’t UV-resistant, and begins to harden and crack after a short period of time of use out in the sun. As time went on, golf grip manufacturers began to combine rubber with carbon, improving UV resistance - but this meant that the only available colour was the colour of carbon: black. Another possible solution was to use ABR (thermoplastic rubber), but Iomic found that this material tends to become slippery when wet, making it unsuitable for all-weather use.
This is when Iomic turned to elastomers, of which there are over 30, so much testing was needed to find the best combination. They eventually settled on a mix of five different elastomers - the perfect UV-resistant, friction-resistant, and water-resistant solution for golf grips.
The Most Consistent Grip in Golf
As well as the use of elastomer, Iomic grips are made using a vacuum moulding process, creating a grip with an extremely tight tolerance of weight. The use of elastomer - a solid compound - also means the grip will maintain its original shape for longer than rubber.
Iomic Golf Grip Customisation
Iomic makes grips to match your individual preferences and playing style. They come in a wide range of colours and patterns, such as the Iomic Sticky 2.3 Black Army Grip, as well as various sizes, like the Iomic Sticky Jumbo Golf Grip. Iomic golf grips also feature a firm grip cap, encouraging a softer, more relaxed grip, leading to less tension in your hands and a more relaxed swing.
