TaylorMade Stealth

In 2022, TaylorMade launched the Stealth line featuring a striking new red carbon face.

From this point on, there would be no more 100% titanium drivers in their lineup.

Colour aside, the carbon technology that was introduced in the Stealth range was a project TaylorMade had been working on for over 20 years and follows in a long line of innovative products.

2023 sees more of an evolution than a revolution as TaylorMade launches the Stealth 2 range.

We can be certain that the Stealth 2 range will be good enough for the likes of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Tiger Woods, Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa to put the new woods into play.

We’ll look at the Stealth 2 family along with a few other clubs in the current line-up of note.

TaylorMade Stealth 2

Stealth 2 driver

Three models are available in the Stealth 2 driver range:

  • TaylorMade Stealth 2
  • TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus
  • TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD

The 2023 drivers feature:

  • 60x layer carbon face
  • Inverted Cone Technology - first time featured on a carbon-faced driver

TaylorMade states there is twice as much carbon used in the construction of the head compared to the 2022 model.

There is a new distinctive red carbon ring that works around the back of the club head on the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 HD drivers which adds strength and stability to reduce twisting on off-centre hits making the driver very stable.

Carbon also comes through in the sole of the club which aids in the re-distribution of weight to make the driver more forgiving

The Stealth 2 driver features a 25-gram tungsten weight at the rear and a new weight close to the front of the face in the heel area.

Stealth 2 is about high MOI and being the most stable driver for the majority of golfers.

Stealth 2 Plus features a 15-gram weight at the back and a sliding weight track at the front of the sole to help tailor the ideal shot shape for the golfer.

Whilst the Plus model is still seen as the lower spinning better player option TaylorMade still wants the driver to offer some level of forgiveness.

The Stealth 2 HD model helps golfers who fight a slice by distributing more weight in the heel of the sole to allow the toe to square up easier and help those golfers hit straighter drives.

All drivers feature adjustable necks with the ability to alter the loft by up to 2 degrees up or down or make the driver slightly more upright.

We have all three heads available with lofts ranging from 8 degrees to 12 degrees.

You can choose any of the stock shafts offered by TaylorMade or from our custom shaft options.

Fairway woods

Similar to the drivers, there are three models available:

  • Stealth 2 fairway
  • Stealth 2 Plus
  • Stealth 2 HD

For the Stealth 2 fairway wood, lowering the centre of gravity further back and down thanks to re-working the carbon crown makes the head exceptionally stable.

Inverted Cone Technology also appears in the fairway wood lending speed and stability across the face.

The V Steel sole remains, helping improve turf interaction from the fairway and the rough.

The Stealth 2 Plus fairway features a 50-gram sliding weight which moves the centre of gravity either to the very back of the club for high launch maximum stability or moves the weight forward for low-mid launch low spinning characteristics.

The Stealth 2 HD features a slightly bigger head than the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 Plus fairways - 200cc.

The sole still features V Steel technology and the internal weighting is placed back in the heel of the club to promote a draw-biased ball flight.

Unlike the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 Plus fairways, there is no adjustable sleeve to alter loft or lie.

As with the drivers, we are excited to offer the full range of Stealth 2 fairway woods.

Lofts are available from 13 degrees to 21 degrees and you can choose from the excellent stock shafts available from TaylorMade or explore our custom shafts to personalise your fairway wood further.

Hybrids/Utilities

There are three new hybrid models for 2023 in the Stealth 2 range.

The updates follow a similar pattern to fairway woods:

Stealth 2 Hybrid - designed with maximum stability in mind for high launch

Stealth 2 Plus - smaller head shape offering workability that better players will appreciate

Stealth 2 HD - bigger footprint, weighting moved to help get the ball airborne and prevent shots from leaking to the right

We currently have the full range of Stealth 2 Hybrids available. You can choose what shaft you want to have fitted from the standard factory options or the custom hybrid shafts.

Lofts range from 17 degrees to 28 degrees.

Not a hybrid fan? TaylorMade also offers the new Stealth DHY and UDI driving irons.

Both options feature a hollow body filled with speed foam and Inverted Cone Technology to offer high degrees of forgiveness on off-centre hits.

The UDI is aimed more at the better player who doesn’t worry so much about their ball-striking but with a more tour-inspired look will also be able to work shots and trajectories better.

The UDI is available with lofts from 18 - 23 degrees with a choice of stock or custom shafts.

The DHY still has more of an iron feel but offers a wider sole and weight moved further back to promote low-mid launching shots.

We offer the DHY from 17 - 25 degrees with a range of stock or custom shafts to choose from.

Irons

This is an area where TaylorMade has made big progress over the last few years and 2023 continues the good form.

At the high end of the range is the Tiger Woods-inspired P7TW.

With input from the great man, these irons are designed for the very best ball strikers who demand great workability and feedback from their iron set.

If you are looking for a slightly different blade option, the P7-MB irons might be a good fit.

With a sleek blade design made from compact grain forging these irons feature “backbar” technology placing the mass behind the face to enhance the feel.

Offering more forgiveness but still with the look of a sleek, blade-like feel of a player’s iron the P7-MC could be the iron for you.

Forged by the same process as the MB iron the MC features perimeter weighting to make off-centre hits more manageable but still offers a high degree of shot-shaping capabilities.

The P-770 2023 model continues a very successful line of irons for TaylorMade that started with the P-790 (still available).

The design for the P-770 is more towards a player’s iron but with the hollow construction and speed foam offer explosive power.

The P-790 as mentioned continues and is just as popular as when this version was launched in 2021.

Like the P-770, the P-790 features the following technology:

  • SpeedFoam Air
  • Thin-Wall construction with L-Face - promoting higher ball speeds at impact with a good feel
  • Thru-Slot Speed Pocket - located close to the face, helps keep ball speeds high on off-centre hits.

An additional new iron for 2023 is the Stealth 2 HD iron.

Helping higher handicap golfers, this iron is about distance and forgiveness. These irons also still feel great at impact to give the golfer great feedback.

All irons come with custom or standard-fit shafts.

There are also options to buy either a 4-iron or attack wedge/sand wedge to complement the set.

TaylorMade also produces a great range of wedges that are worth checking out.

Updates to the popular High-toe design and the new MG3 wedges with a mix of finishes, lofts and bounce variations provide great options in the scoring clubs.

TaylorMade’s Spider putter line increases this year with a variety of options promoting high MOI through the Spider range or the more traditional TP models.

This is a very strong line-up from TaylorMade.

The 2023 options prove TaylorMade can cater for the professional or high handicap golfer in equal measure with the highest performing golf clubs.
