Normally distance balls are better value, but they are also normally firmer.

As your golfing ability improves, you might need more feel and control on and around the greens. Mid-range balls are great choices for mid to high handicappers. While these golf balls cost a bit more than distance options they can improve your performance without sacrificing distance.
