Precision Weighting Technology

As shown on page one, the Lightning Hybrid features three weight locations: toe, heel, and back. Two lighter 2.5 g weights pair with a heavier 12.5 g position to support directional control, launch tuning, and shot-bias refinement. Optional weights from 2.5 g up to 20 g create further adjustability. This allows players to fine-tune forgiveness, spin, and bias without disturbing the inherent stability of the hybrid’s design.

High-Strength Carbon Fibre Crown

On page two, PXG outlines the hybrid’s high-grade carbon fibre crown. By removing mass from the upper section of the head and redistributing it low and around the perimeter, the hybrid achieves a lower centre of gravity. This helps promote higher launch, improved stability, and increased forgiveness across the face.

Faster, Thinner Face Design

The face is engineered with a thinner insert that increases deflection by approximately 3% compared to PXG’s Black Ops hybrids. This boosts ball speed and improves energy transfer at impact, producing a faster launch and greater distance even from imperfect strikes.

High MOI Squared Head Design

The squared shaping detailed on page two pushes mass towards the extreme perimeter of the head. This increases MOI and reduces twisting at impact, helping the ball stay online and improving accuracy from a range of strike locations. It gives the hybrid a steady, grounded feel at address and a controlled response through the strike.

New Progressive Bulge Radius

The progressive bulge radius adjusts by loft to optimise accuracy. Lower lofts gain more curvature to counter gear-effect movement, while higher lofts require less to maintain controlled launch. This results in more consistent ball flight and tighter dispersion across the hybrid range.

Robotic Polishing

Robotic polishing ensures the face’s thickness, bulge, and roll radii are exact. This promotes consistent spin, reliable launch, and predictable curvature, preserving performance when contact drifts towards the heel or toe.
